Après la sortie du village du Soulier, le parcours emprunte une vallée qui traverse une zone Natura 2000. Il longe le cours de la Couze, petite rivière qui prend sa source à l'est de Noailles est devient souterraine dans la vallée d'où son nom de vallée sèche pour réapparaître au gouffre du Blagour. Après avoir franchi un gué, le parcours fait une petite boucle avant son retour par le même chemin. Il finit par un tour complet du lac.
