Ce parcours très varié emprunte des pistes en herbe, en terre, des pentes en pierres et de beaux chemins forestiers. Depuis Tarare, il suit la voie ferrée pour rejoindre les Sauvages puis grimpe jusqu’au Col du Pin Bouchain par une montée technique où deux « murs » se succèdent. Il terminera sans grande difficulté depuis la source de la Turdine jusqu’au Barrage de Joux.
