ExploreStart by taking the mythical Col de La Madeleine road and then turn right via a carriage road. You will discover an alpine farm producing Beaufort, the local cheese. Cross the slopes reserved for the Grand Domaine ski area in winter, and then begin a beautiful descent to the picturesque village of Montaimont.
At the Sainte Marguerite plateau, where a small Baroque chapel awaits you, you will arrive on a tarmac road; a little more effort to finally discover the Lac du Loup, this mountain lake where wolves once came to quench their thirst. The lake is well laid out, and you can enjoy a comfortable picnic on the tables.
