About

The Orge River, a 54 km long tributary of the Seine, appears in the surroundings of the Beauce Region, in Saint Martin de Bréthencourt between Ablis and Dourdan.

Many industries and artisans set up near the river: manufacturer, potters, rope makers and especially the millers.

The Orge River supplied several mills, of which only one still works but doesn’t use the hydraulic power.
