Parthenay-Gâtine is located in the heart of Gâtine Poitevine with its preserved bocage and its valleys from which numerous rivers flow. The territory is made up of numerous villages and hamlets full of charm where a very pretty vernacular heritage is revealed, made up of wash houses, stone fords and water mills.

You will also discover the medieval town of Parthenay, famous for its particularly well-preserved old center housing more than a hundred half-timbered houses. Its spectacular defensive works give the capital of Gâtine the nickname “little Carcassonne of the west”.
