ExploreOn this trail we walk through the meadows in the heart of Aralar. The route starts in Larraitz, from where we begin the ascent along the traditional Larrunarri (Txindoki) path to the huts on the hill. There we will come to a crossroads that we will take on the right towards Alotza, and we will gradually climb up as we enter the pastures. We will immediately reach the meadows on the hill and continue through pastures that have been used since ancient times to reach the source of Alotza. After leaving the spring behind us, it is difficult to follow the path and the markings and we advise you to use your GPS to get there. On foggy days it is easy to get lost. We will take the ascent path again to reach the top of Ganbo. From the summit, we will be in front of Larrunarri (Txindoki) and we will take this direction following the path (unmarked) indicated by the GPS. Once we reach the Txindoki pass, we will start the descent to Larraitz by the usual path (PR-Gi 2005).
In our practice, it is essential to respect the work of the farmers, other farmers and landowners who welcome us to their land:
So that the herds do not escape, close all the electric fences well and do not damage them!
Also, do not disturb the herds, greet the people you meet with a friendly "hello", and of course bring back all your rubbish! Do not cut routes through the meadows, do not picnic either!
