Après une mise en jambe dans la Vallée de l'Aa, l'ascension des monts d'Elnes et de Wavrans amène à découvrir la réserve naturelle et ses coteaux calcaires. Le site comprend de vastes carrières dans lesquelles plusieurs espèces protégées de chauve-souris viennent nicher.
