ExploreLocated in the middle of the town, it sheltered the pilgrims and the needy. The collections of the Hôtel-Dieu (paintings, furniture, and “pharmacy jars”) are exhibited in the castle museum.
The Hôtel-Dieu would have been established in the 13th century – around 1220 – and be a royal foundation. Entirely rebuilt between 1766 and 1770, this building was developed thanks to donations from nobles and bourgeois of the town. It served as a hospital until 1970, date on which this hospital was moved in the outskirts of the town.
