Routes

Description

After a warm-up on the old Ravel tram line, you will descend to the Semois river until the "Moulin de Nawé". From there, you will ride along the Semois, taking the rather technical and sometimes challenging "Pierre Perin" single track. Tour of the "Tombeau du Chevalier" via the Boult path and return via the technical single track of the "crêtes". Pass by the "Moulin Willaime", follow the N884 to the bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn right and climb the very nice single track which will bring you to a superb viewpoint overlooking the bridge, the viaduct and the entrance to the village.

Go down to the Semois following the single track, go up the path of the "Croix du Soldat" (150 m D+!) to reach Libaipire, a superb point overlooking the Semois and the "Tombeau du Chevalier".

Continue to climb to arrive in the "Bois de Sainte-Cécile", pass through the place called "le Beau Chêneau", pass over the tunnel of the old Tram line, cross the national road and descend to the Semois at the place called "Relogne", follow the Semois along a wide and clear path until you reach the dam, (This is a dam, made of large blocks of shale, which was once built by the monks to resist the devastating floods of the river. )

After the dam, turn left on a superb steep single track where, in the middle of oaks, myrtillers and heathers, you will have the impression of being in the "Corsican maquis". You will arrive at the "Bois de Conques", continue the path by passing by the single track of "la grotte des Moines" which will bring you close to the old priory of Conques.

Cross the N884 and take the path in front of you to go along the magnificent large pond of Conques. At the end of the large pond, go up to the left into a fir tree grove with a pretty stream on your left hand.

Continue along this path, taking a number of single tracks and returning to Herbeumont via the viaduct and the old tram line, the Ravel line.

If you notice fallen trees on the route, missing signposts or any other questions, please let us know at: contact@herbeumont-tourisme.be

ATTENTION: Possible overflow of the Semois on a small part of the course in autumn and winter.

It is essential that we respect the work of the farmers, other operators and owners who welcome us to their land:

In order to prevent the herds from escaping, close all electric fences and do not damage them!

Also, do not disturb the herds, greet people with a friendly "hello", and of course take back all your rubbish! Don't cut routes through the meadows, don't pick at them either!
